eBay Announcements Regarding Superstorm Sandy

Superstorm Sandy has left a mind boggling amount of devastation in it's wake. In addition to losing homes and struggling to get through daily life, many businesses were damaged or forced to halt operations because of storm damage, power loss, no internet, no cell phone, no access to transportation, etc. The list goes on and on. To help, eBay has posted some announcements and recommendations for sellers affected by the storm.

Recommendation for Sellers Potentially Affected By Hurricane Sandy links to the following actions that can be taken:
  1. Put your Store in Vacation Mode
  2. Indicate to Buyers the affect on your operation
  3. Request eBay do this for you
Shipping, Communication Potentially Delayed Due to Hurricane Sandy lists those geographical areas where communications, power and transportation will all be affected by the storm.  eBay continues to monitor the conditions in these areas.

We also recommend setting up an auto-responder in your ReplyManager account to communicate with customers.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by Sandy! We know you'll persevere and come back stronger than ever!
