Online Holiday Sales Jump 15 Percent

Techcrunch reports that e-commerce spending so far this holiday season has increased by 15% from 2011, making this years Black Friday and Cyber Monday a big success. Despite the warmer weather conditions driving people to shop in-store, buyers are clearly still spending online which may be attributed to the influx in mobile purchasing, among other things.
Some interesting stats...
  1. Retail e-commerce spending for the first 30 days of November thru December holiday season totalled $20.4 billion.
  2. The week including cyber Monday saw three days each surpass $1billion in spending. 
  3. Last week ‘s Monday and Tuesday each rank as the two heaviest online spending days in history. 
  4. Top growth categories include Computer Electronics, Computer Hardware, Toys and Consumer Packaged Goods and Video Game Consoles & Accessories.
  5. The percentage of people that bought products with free shipping  (55%) or paid shipping (52%) was about equal.
